82 smog
I have an 82 4x4 that I installed a Weber on. So many of the Emmisions items are no longer made smoking these is getting to be a joke. But my Smog guy told me I can ask for a special smog cert due to no parts availability but this only last for 2 years. Then you have to ask a Smog Referie again for the same thing.
So one big question. Since the ECM is really not a Computer ems some no longer function can the vehicle be set up to inject air into the manifold full time? What would be the advantages and disadvantages of setting it like this?
I installed a Weber as the Asian carb was literally cooked by the exhaust manifold leaking into the intake heat riser. That manifold is shot.
So in this process I found out I had a head gasket leak, a shot water pump and a Timing chain with so much slack it was unreal.
Now the Redline instructions are pretty good. But not really clear enough as there line drawing for vacuums hose connection points suck, real bad. But I do have my under hood sticker and an 82 FSM with nice easy to follow lines. Could this be set up to inject full time?
Ana as a reference, the Weber does away with so much junk that the simple Canada version looks like it would work best now. Has anyone tried this?
