Bed bobbed, excess sheetmetal removed from the bottom of the bed. Canopy chopped and moved forward for faux extended cab look. Cheap plastic toolbox behind that. Tailgate removed, spare tire carrier added. I'd go to pirate4x4 and ask this same question tomorrow, and tomorrow only.

Ah Tuesday is rolling around isnt it
Tons of write ups on bed bobs, removing the extra material is straight forward and for the little shell it looks like they chopped a shell up and put it back together, there are write ups on that too its like a bob job but you use fiberglass resin instead of bondo
For the record it would have had to be a very dirty, very sexy wife to top that yota

am more interested in the shell area...i wonder if they chopped the cab, and part of the bed to get in and out or if the whole thing is just an extra space for things to clutter.
i have 2 kids and they both love to ride in it, but it only has one seat belt...so my idea was to buy a shell chop it....cut the cab and bed, then weld tubing to reinforce the whole thing up...add a seat with seat belts.
any ideas??

your location would help.
there is one of these sleeper shells for sale for $100 off Hwy 99E just south of Woodburn, OR
My Trekker is a conversion done by Winnebago to have a walk thru cab...if you need pics on connecting the bed you can look at my build thread or fire off a PM and I can try to get you pics of the cab to cap transition
here is a link to a similar conversion done on a Trekker (please don't chop up a good trekker)
http://toyotatrekker.proboards.com/i...ead=344&page=1
or find a Custom Cab:
or make a run down to Australia:

seemsl to me he is trying to do a homebrewed 1st Gen extended cab.
when Trekkers first came out, 4wheeler magazine (early '80's) did an article on converting the truck with out using the fiberglass bed.
for the rear part of the cab they cut out the majority of the rear of the cab. They did not cut out the bed all the way down, they left about 6" of metal so that they could bend/pound that down into the cab area to bridge the bed/cab gap.

there is a 1984 Toyota KING CAB about 30 miles away from me..
its got a 5in lift (all spring) hi-steer..36's and ARB lockers that are still in the box..it just needs 5.29 gears (has 4.10's in it)..its ALMOST my dream truck..(4.3 or 4BT..and it would be in my garage..lmao)

well after going through ocdropzone pics over at the trekker site, seems like it would take way to much effort to accomplish my goal.
its not the work that lays ahead ...its a perfectly good looking wheeler to experiment with.
