i am having problems with my battery light comming on. i put a new alt in. and the voltage is always around 14.4. when the light comes on i hit the dash and it goes off. its only the battery light not the brake.. when the lights on or off voltage is good. any thoughts?

 

I have read that a bad solder joint in charge light relay can cause this problem. assuming that you are hitting the dash on the side that the relay is on.

 

replace your charge lamp relay

 

Anyone have a picture to indicate exactly where this relay is located?

 

I don't have a picture, but it's right side of the steering column, up under there pretty far, and it says charge relay on it.

 

It could also be on the passenger side ,above the kick panel under the dash.

 

Was curious about this too, my charge light has never come on...good reminder for me to check the bulb/connection someday

 

Mines on and off.. Just something else to fix..

 

at least it lights up sometime
