choke kicks in when hot?

so I just picked up an 83 pickup with the 22r, bone stock as far as i can tell besides the flatdeck. anyways when the truck is cold it fires up no problem but when its hot it will just cranked over but you have to pump the pedal a bit and feather it and it will start after 2-3 seconds of "boggin" it will run but the choke is on. after i hit 3000rpm or 40km/h it will shut off. anyone know what is causing this? like i said when its cold it fires up no problem but once its warm i am trying to start it with the choke on. so basically how can i turn the choke off so it doesn't kick in when hot

sorry if this has been asked before but i couldn't find anything and if the above doesn't make sense i will rephrase it.

thanks
stefan

Check your vacuum line routing between the choke unloader diaphragm and the thermal vacuum switch on the manifold. Sounds like the vacuum signal is reversed.

thanks i will check that too. i had surgery on my one hand so just gotta wait for that to heal up. a little bit hard working with only one hand.

been reading that other link and think that it may have something to do with the electric choke coil.

thanks for your help guys!!!!

just incase anyone else has this problem check your choke plate for tension. mine needed alot of force to push it down. backed the spring off and now it doesn't kick in when its hot... or cold sometimes just gotta put your foot on the gas for a minute or so to let er warm up.
