I recenly put a 81 22r in a 87 that had a 22ret i got everything wired up and running and i took the electric fuel pump out of the and put a 3/8 fuel line in its place. The problem im having is i have to put gas in the carb to prime it once its primed it runs fine. I dont know if this has anything to do with it but i did take that little can out that is on the passenger side fender well
