80 P/U build ideas? cheap ones

my moms truck is an 80 long bed, 20R weber 32/36 carb, with the 4 speed. Camper shell, 3in. suspension lift rough country springs in front, blocks in the rear. sitting on some stock rims and tires. I'm going to give her wheels off an 03' taco (stock) 16x7's with one 285 mounted up. see if it fits fine, and go from there. Would like to convert to power steering and see if there is some cheap options for the rear lift besides blocks/add a leaf.. say some junk yard springs? heard I can put some V-6 calipers and brakes on my truck.. I need some cheap add ons, junk yard ideas, to modernize this truck some for hunting/fishing/ DD and going to the mountains. not having to be the biggest Off-road rig there is.

For the rear, a lot of people put 63" Chevy springs in the back. Requires relocating the hangers, but its not a difficult mod. I haven't done the mod myself, hopefully someone can chime in on it.

They don't go on anything but Chevys without mods...so I'm not sure what you're getting at there.
So yeah, if you're willing to relocate things, they are fine for these trucks. Plenty of people have done it. You can check Pirate4x4 for info on it, just don't post until you've read the FAQ, if you still have questions after that.

thanks, I found that a long time ago. was looking for my runner, didn't think for my mom's truck.
noob question, do I have to go an IFS steering box with highsteer to run power steering. trying to read all this, taking notes and

the goal is go cheap, and simple bolt on, possible weld parts.. modern driveablity. she uses it for hauling wood, fishing and hunting. if it was me, it would be a wheeler!
