80 LB bed liner and camper top

Hi, I'm relatively new to the forum and am trying to get a bed liner for my 80 LB truck that I'm restoring and possibly a camper top. I've tried looking in junkyards and at several local companies around me but none of them have anything for the older trucks. Is there a bedliner or camper shell available that fits the older trucks or do the later bedliners and caps fit the 2nd gen 2wd pickups?

I didn't have any luck finding a bedliner to fit my '80 so I went with a spray on liner. I found a topper on craigslist that would fit but decided to keep the roll bar so I passed on it. Not many accessories out there anymore for 1st gens.

Yeah, I'm not having much luck either. I've thought about the spray on liners, but I want to try and avoid that if I can find a cap or a liner because I'd like to keep the bed the same color as the rest of the truck. That's too bad about the accessories because it's a cool looking truck

If you get your bed sprayed with Line-X'd, they can colour match it to what ever colour you want. Just a thought.

Parts are few and far between for these old trucks. Trekkerpaul has a very nice long bed trailer conversion with a nice canopy for sale for the right price

Hmm, I really only need the cap and it looks like he's out west, so that won't work.

How well does that Line-x stuff hold up to abuse? If it were top coated with paint to match the rest of the truck, I'd be afraid of the paint chipping off leaving a chocolate chip look to the bed, haha

I went with Rhinoliner but I would recommend Line-x. From what I've seen it will hold up better. Line-x is rougher and Rhinoliner is more rubbery and I wanted the softer stuff.

It works great. I have my front bumper Line-X'd as well as the 'top coat' which is a caviler coat. It's sprayed on at approx 255'F so it gets 'baked' onto the metal, drys in minutes and when it's don't, it's practical bullet proof. You can beat the crap out if it if you like, IF it does get damaged, they can repair it very easily.

When the shop sprays on the material, they color match it with pigments before they spray it on, so there is no painting over top of it.

I went to their website. That's interesting how it's backed on after being applied. Sounds like it's worth looking into in the event I can't find a topper. How much did it cost for those of you who had this done?

It will vary $ depending on where you are, $400'ish, best bet is to call a shop
