i have a 79 hilux std cab long box that im putting a 5 speed out of a mid 80s truck in and the thing is longer than the one that was in it dose any one know it i will need a shorter rear drive line or if my curent one will work? please help not much time left to get done

it has to be shortened. measure your pinion flange to rear transfer case output flange, take that measurement to a D/S shop and have them shorten your existing d/s. it is worth it IMO to have it done professionally to have it shortened and balalanced.
front d/s has to be lengthened...
