22R build

I am putting a new 22R in my sons 83 4x4. I bought a shortblock and head, then am swapping parts off the old onto the new. My question is---Are there any of the vacuum lines or emission components that I can do away with without making the engine run poor?

I would go with a weber carb (prolly 32/36), that'd eliminate a lot of the vac lines. Then search for EGR delete and do that mod and you'll be golden.

Those Weber's are pretty expensive and I've heard a lot of Cons on swapping. Heard a lot of Pro's too, but I'm udecided on that.

If your rebuilding it then Plug up all the EGR crap or take it off. Theres nothing wrong with the stock 22r carb it flows something like 325cfm. Follow this canadian vacuum line diagram and ditch everything else. I dont use the HAI or carcoal canister lines either.
