I figure with the 3" body lift it's right around a stock height 4x4. Some minor fender trimming and they don't rub. And no flaming please, it's my beater/parts runner...I'm well aware of the rediculousness lol.
Are you kidding?! Half of Norcal would kill for that truck! Haha, no but really I like it. It's like the best 2wd I've ever seen - anything more like 4wd is good

Here are the tires.. they're Interco TSLs.. pre-current models I'm pretty sure; vintage. Honestly the tread seems nearly new as far as depth.

I'm definitely going to need some rims for these though But at least there is someone else out there running massive spacers! I'm really going to avoid it if at all possible, but it is an option.

I'd like to go back to the steelies and put some 34x9.50 Narrow SS Intercos on it at some point. Apparently I just want it to look like a duece and a half haha.

You can run 31" or 32" without a lift. My wheels are 15"x9.5" and have a 4.5" back space. If you want to run 33" you can do it without a lift as long as you do not drive it too hard (bounce alot). You could run firmer shocks.

Haha thanks man. The guy I bought it from (without the body lift) had the torsion bars relaxed and tiny ass tires on it lol. $500 bucks though, couldn't pass it up.

Those 31x11.50s are gonna look awesome. Good luck with the rim search. Keep an eye out on Craigslist...I got mine for $50.

I'm running 32x11.5x15 on my 81 and they ride good, a little tougher to get rolling then the stock 235s haha but they look way better!

Thanks dude! Are yours 15x8? what backspacing? I wanted to find some negative offset rims, but it sounds like a backspacing of 3.5" won't rub to bad.

How wide are your rims?

Yeah, this thing needs new shocks badly anyways, so those will come before too long! With that amount of backspacing, do your tires rub at all in turns/articulation?

My 31's or 33's have never rubbed at any time whether in turns or articulation.

Haven't measured the backspacing but ya they're 15x8.
