Just bought 2 1980 toyota pickup 4x4 trucks one is a parts truck, i am changing the suspension on one of them. I was wondering is anyone has any comments on the rough country 3.5 inch lift . The springs on the truck are worn out and need to be replaced, and i was thinking might as well put a better lift on it why i am at it. Any reviews or recommendations would be great.

Not real concerned about the budget right now, but dont want to spend tons of money on it. Just looking for a good reasonable lift with all new leaf springs and shocks.

Only reason i am looking at the ruff country is because it seems to be the only one with replacement leafs and not add leafs

You should really go at it and do the quality lift, like he's showing you. Cut off those tiny stock spring hangers, and do the high steer as well, don't want to end up in a hole and you can't turn the wheel.

ford f150 rear springs in rear and toyota rears up front is a good mod. 4 inches +- of lift and days of flex

I got a 1979 Toyota pickup 4x4, go to http://www.northwestoffroad.com/ they have a lot of stuff for toyota 4X4. I was thinking about going with there 6 inch leaf spring lift. They also have motor parts and more.

NWOR springs are extremely stiff. I would not recommend them..

i have a 6" lift in my 83 and it's a stiff ride off road i would like to fig. out how to soften it up

I have the 3" Rough Country lift on my 83. I went with the RC lift because my old suspension was sniff as hell and I wanted a quick cheap fix to get me through the summer until I had time to start my rebuilt next fall. I've been rather impressed with the ride on the road and it handles fairly well off road, but I'm by no mean a hardcore wheeler like some folks on here. My only recommendation would be to make sure you get the kit with the rear springs instead of the rear blocks.

i rencetly found a pair of rear leaves for a early 90's chevy 1/2 ton. My question is how many should i keep in the pack? I want a softer ride and alot of flex.. This is no longer used on tar. Any input would be great.

Haven't known anyone to run tuff country on a yota, all chevy's and fords. Whatever you do, DO NOT get a rough country lift for a yota, I might as well be in a horse driven carriage. I've been collecting pennies for an OME kit. Then again, I'm not going to bash this truck off raod, too cherry of an 80 model. So I'm more concerend with street ride than off road ride.

What options would I have for suspension lift since the frame has been bobbed right behind the rear shackle hanger? I want to go bigger and more flex but what are options without breaking the bank?
