3.0 V6... What would you pay?
I am just throwing this out there for feelers. I have been wanting to do a 1UZFE swap, but couldn't afford it. Now that the head gasket blew on the 3.0, the cost of rebuilding to my liking is almost as expensive as swapping in the 1UZ. SO... that being said, what would you fine people pay for the 3.0 with a blown head gasket? I know this is a stupid question given its history, but this 3.0 has all new parts except the oil pump, alternator and distributor. It still runs like a champ even with the headgasket, can't even tell. I shut it down immediately, so the oil from I can see is not contaminated.
If I can sell the 3.0, then I can make the 1UZ swap more affordable. Just want to see what people think, I know it is not a popular V6, but the new parts alone make it worthwhile I think.
Thanks for looking!

I sold one with a blown head gasket for like $150 and was glad to get rid of it. I'll probably price my next one for the same amount or just give it away. Probably not what you wanted to hear but that's my opinion

That is exactly what i want to hear, thank you. I know it is all about supply and demand, and this engine isnt really sought after.
Deciding to keep it and rebuild the heads. Might even port them myself.
Thanks!

I sold my 3.0 with a burnt valve for $150; guy said "it will make a great go-cart motor," I can only imagine what it's doing now.
Something else to keep in mind, the average core for a rebuilt long block seems to be around $300, so maybe factor that into your asking price when you get there.

Strip it and sell the stuff on the forum. Not to hijack your thread but I have a '97 3.4 that I thought had a bad flex plate but turns out maybe a wrist pin or lifter, anyway it has newly rebuilt heads. I'm installing a '99 so would like to get rid of this one.
