Jack Stand Safety?
#41
After having the 4Runner "shift" once when up on smaller 2Ton stands I went out and got 6 Ton stands.
I still use the 2T ones - but only when I need em 1-3 teeth up..(under the axle tube). I usually stuff extra stands (not loaded - too many loaded stands makes things even tippier) in there in case something happens...

Quickens the pulse a bit, doesn't it?
Yeah, the 2tons come in handy. Say your vehicle is up on stands (the big'ns)at the frame and you need to support a dangling driveline or (on IFS) the control arm assembly. I've done that before.

After using newer 3 ton jack stands, i finally got sick of them because they were always either too short and/or just didn't feel safe enough.
So i bought a couple pairs of 6 ton stands (23 1/2" reach)...50 times better!
