found an air compressor

found a 20 gal 5HP in the garbage today. it has a small pinhole in the bottom of the tank. Guess they did'nt drain it very often.
How would you fix it? except for welding it....i don't want to spend any $$ on the thing.

I was going to drill out the hole, thread it and just stick a machine screw in it. maybe glue it in.

LOL, I KNEW you would respond to a question about a pressure vessel.

Just drilling out the rust hole is a BAD idea. The rest of the internal walls are weakened and that thing would be a time bomb.

I'm an ASME pressure vessel fabrication engineer by trade...so old habits die hard.

I agree with wabbit, do not try to fix it, but like bigt said, if the compressor works you can probably find another tank.
