Air compressor

I am looking at picking up a compressor in the $750-$1200 range and this compressor just came up onsale for $799 at the local farm supply store (TSC), it's a 60gal 16.5cfm @90 PSI 7hp with cast iron cylinders single stage. I would like to be able to do some sand blasting with a pressure pot and use it to run any air tool to repair my own vehicle so it wouldn't be used daily/commercially. would this be able to do this or should i be looking for more CFM and a two stage compressor?

That is a hard question to answer a truthful answer could only be maybe.

Sure you could get by!! Will you be happy I can`t say.

It seems no matter how many CFM one has you will find a way to manage to run out of air

Sand Blasting uses lots of air depending on the model

Impacts are not to bad but if your getting into grinders , air sanders they consume air.

I got along for years on a single stage compressor I just had to wait and let it catch up and rest it got so very warm.

I went to a 2 stage compressor 24 CFM at 90 PSI which works a whole lot better.

It all comes down to your needs and what you can live with.

how quickly would something like this compressor run out of air using a grinder? would you get a few minutes of work out of it using a grinder or would it be one min of work then pump for a few mins?
