I am part of a RC plane group that goes out to Superstition Mountain about once a month to fly from the dry lake bed there.

I usually always take Split Mountain Road from Ocotillo Wells and head 22 miles thru the desert Via the Impact Area (read: Military Bombing Range) to get to the lake bed.

I recently got a new GoPro2 and just finished the video from this January trip.
Saturday was way to windy to fly and unfortunately I had left the camera on my windshield after I pulled into camp. It was on for 2 hours and drained the battery so next trip I will get more footage.

Where in ocotillo do you catch Split Mt. road ?

 

Not the city of Octillio but the OHV area to the north.
