Some video of the season so far

Finally got some video editing capability, so encoded some video of some hilights of my trips to Moab in May and Blanca Peak in July. They're all linked at the bottom of my profile which is linked in my sig.

Let me know if you are not able to play them. They're some of the more intense moments of my wheeling this year. (Try QuickTime 6 & RealPlayer 10.5)

For those of you who don't want to click through
Blanca Peak Rd
Here's a hi-res MP4 video (5.62MB, 55sec) of going over Jaws 1 on Blanca Peak road. See and hear my idler arm bending as my passenger-side tire wobbles around. And another Hi-res one of Jaws 2 (5.06MB, 49sec) where you can hear my idler arm snap. Or you can watch the hi-lights of all of the road on a low-res WMV video (5.85MB, 3:37). Fortunately, I had a spare idler arm. Came home and ordered the Downey idler arm brace. We'll see how that holds up.

Moab, UT
Descending to the gully that leads up to Hell's Gate on the Hell's Revenge trail in Moab, UT, is a challenge in
itself. Here's a video (MP4, 13.7MB, 2:15) of going down and back up the approach pitch to Hell's Gate. (Sorry, it was shot by my 12-year-old, who's still learning about videography.) No one in our group had done it before, let alone the actual Hell's Gate.

Slightly off-topic: There are many videos on the web of people driving Hell's Gate. The most famous is Tracy(?) rolling her Heep TJ at the '02 Jeeps Unlimited.
If you don't have a default application for the MP4 files, try QuickTime 6+.

Did you try QuickTime? That seems to be the way to play the MP4 video's. Of course Windows Media Player is the default for the WMV file. I did have the MP4s encoded differently, but when I tried it on other machines, they wouldn't even play on QuickTime. I didn't have a high compression option that would support higher than 160x240 in the WMV, unless I went to much higher resolution.
