Smelter Mountain 1.19.07 Durango, CO.

a friend came along after classes today to drive up Smelter Mountain with me which is right above Durango, CO. it is not a challenging road but the recent snow and steep, ice covered hills made it interesting. we passed through an open gate and went all the way to the very top where the radio towers are. im not sure this gate is always open but when we got to the top we saw some guys working and we just told them we were taking pictures and they didnt seem to mind and were friendly. nothing challenging but a lot of fun and some great views. enjoy.

i think it is a really cool and skilled artform but it is done in the wrong areas. i dont do it personally but i think it is pretty neat, just a shame it is done in a vandalizing way.

I love Durango. Great little town - you're lucky to be living there. Nice pics too.

Nice Pics,

I really like the one where you can see the Twin Buttes in front of Silver Mtn in the Laplata's.

I grew up in Durango and did a lot of wheeling at Horse Gulch, Test Track, Perins Peak and the Laplata's before they started closing things off.

Brings back good memories!
Thanks!
Robb
