Went out with LINY from T4R.ORG and a bunch of Jeeps to RC yesterday, unfortunately I had to come home - they're probably still doing some hella wheelin' out there right now, although it is cold as today. Most of the Jeep guys were cool, a couple were pricks (one didn't even have his truck out on the trail and was talking mad ) but in the end 2 Jeeps broke or broke down (you'll be able to tell in the pictures, clogged/cracked radiator and destroyed TC on the Wrangler, broken ball joints on the XJ) and the only Toyota injury was a busted steering box on a newly-SAS'd 1st Gen Runner. Had a good time and definitely will be going back. Only got a couple hours of good wheeling in because everyone stuck back to help with the ball joint repair.

Here is the trip report as I know it right now.
LINY4Runner is still down there with his group. They had a 1st gen 4runner on it maiden voyage after an SAS that had to limp back after either a steering box leak or break and some kind of rear brake issue. A Wrangler that was playing around in the mud with me went down within 20 minutes after mud running. We let him cool down and I supplied him with some more coolant. Another 20 or so minutes passed and be blew to plastic top of his radiator out. I had to hook up to him to turn him around. (LINY4Runner has the photos of this) LINY4Runner then hook the Jeep to him and yanked him up and down some hills out an emergency exit where we called for one of their tow rigs. Earlier in the day one of the jeep I think that was in the group broke a ball joint in half. A few hours later after an on-trail fix he was back and running.
I called it a day today after trying to get another alternator that went down at the end of the day on the way back to camp. Replaced it with the OEM and it got me Into Sunbury a half hour away to an Autozone there which didn't have it in stock. grrrrrr. drove another 20 or so minutes to Bloomsburg to return the lifetime replacement one. I also somehow broke the wire connector of my idle cutoff solenoid in my Weber at the end of the day as well. Fixed that but taking it out and hacking off the needle plunger in it so it didn't shut. I also flattened my leaf springs more than when I had gone in. About 1/2" lower in the back now. My be rubbed a little here and there but no too bad. The guy driving behind me though said several times I must have had one of the rear 31" tires off the ground a good 2 feet. The truck never rolled nor did I even notice I was on 3 Wheels !!!! No I am not on lockers.
LINY4Runner took some awesome videos I am sure he will post up. I am pretty sure he got some of myself playing around in the mud and of me crawling down a rock face in which even he didn't think I was gonna make it. Front cross member held up nicely coming down as I hit it several times.
Here are some pics that I took.
After arriving Friday night

Might need this as it is gonna be 20 degrees overnight

Only other vehicle that was there when I got there around 7:30pm I had to take a photo

Not a part of our group but Had to take some photos of some sweet 22r SAS Yotas. The red one broke what they tink was a Front BIRF and toasted a wheel bearing. This one was on its maiden voyage after being built.

This is the 4runner that was with our group with the steering/brake problem. You can see LINY4Runner's rig in the background.

I think this kid was scared to death lol.

Me testing out if the Weber will crap out on a incline (this photo was taken by my trail cutting group early Saturday.) It did fine, no stalling or nothing. I didn't go all the way up though because this was a new section and nobody knew what was on the other side lol. Right After I cam down about 6-7 Deer came across right at the top.

This was the trail cutting group I was with the first half of Saturday. Most guys were on 35's, two other jeeps were on 31's. There were about 20-30 people total.

Hey guys Im the guy with the White XJ in 02 limiteds pics... Used to have a 91 and 89 runner so I still hop on here from time to time... We had a great weekend with some carnage! The purple XJ lost balljoints after blowing a front shaft, Fixed both the balljoints and shaft on the trail had him up and running 2hrs later.. The White runner 1badtoy was fixed bright and early sunday morning and back on the trail for the rest of the day. It was the shakedown run for 1badtoy after Him me and 2 others built the truck over the past few weekends.. I was very impressed with it however it sure did need a 4:1 Kit! Overall a great trip! Nice meet you 02 limited and Xtreme22r!

I thought I'd join up on here just to stop in and say hi since I saw my truck in so many pictures. I'm the one driving the Olive Drab Yota with a partial exo on 38" Creepy Crawlers. I hooked up with a few of the Jeeps that frequent the park to help cut on the new land and wheel in general. They were an excellent group I must say. Don't judge someone on what they drive, everyone can be an @$$ regardless of the vehicle they drive. Trust me on this one!
Anyways here's a teaser shot of the red trail I marked out. This is meant to be hard...and hard it is just to walk up.
The bottom is actually EASIER than the top. It gets worse as you go up the hill. Yeah, I left all logic and reason behind when picking the line. Can't wait to be in my normal group so I can run it...or fail trying.

Here are some pictures of my junk in action.
Right after the start of the Red Line on Cemetary, pictures can be deceiving, I'm not stuck, and walked right over this.
Halfway through Cemetary (Red Line)
Top of the steepest Hill Climb out of Lake Christy
Here's a video of me making the last ledge on Trail 16. Disregard the blue hue of the video. Learning my new camera and screwed up the Auto White Balance setting.

Now aren't you glad I conned you into taking the harder line down? I knew your Yota could handle it. Don't underestimate what that thing will do.

what's up RED. yeah that line was great. only problem I had which really wasn't a problem was the front crossmember kept knocking the rocks outta my way. lol held up just fine though. I was the one who took those photos of yur truck. Is that the red trail on the new property? If so He's right, those phtos don't give that trial justice. We are talking 3-4 foot holes or better. You had better take a vid of you rolling down that hill when you grow the balls to try it. haha J/K.

The VERY first picture I posted of just the rocks with no trucks in it is the new red trail alright. That's what it looked like prior to tree removal looking from the very bottom to the top. Unfortunately people didn't listen to me, didn't hear me, or got a little carried away with the chainsaws and cut down a few trees that I wanted to leave standing. They were growing in just the right spots to make the trail even harder. Either way, the guys who do run it, will probably go the way I intended the trail to be run anyways.
Can't wait to get back out there. I know my truck won't make it without pulling cable, but I'll give it a shot anyways. I can't NOT run the trail I picked out right?

Kelly, that "prick" was probably my friend joe LOL he really isnt a bad dude at all, he just likes to talk and rip on everyone. Before we came to the trip he was ripping on my 4runner like crazy. He is a good dude though, he was the 1st to jump in and help everyone fix there stuff. He helped billy with his ball joints while talking smack lol and even basically disassembled Ron's hub and bearing on his dodge tow rig saturday night. He is actually going to weld Bryan's sliders on for him...he is 19 years old, ASE master certified and works on big rigs and can weld like its his job...probably because it is haha...if it wasn't for Joe and Wade the runner would still be getting to the point its at now.
Anyways, I had a great time, my runner did good I thought. It did puke the seal on top of the P/S box for the worm gear adjustment or whatever its for...nothing a lil Toyota FIPG couldnt fix. We pulled the seal/washer and smeared it in and bolted it back together and the next morning it was good. Although it is not weeping from the input shaft now...I have the seals on order from work and I plan to buy another box off ebay to keep in the truck in case of a future failure.
Here is a link to my photo bucket album showing all the pics my stepdad took
within the album is a 2nd album, look to the left and youll see day 2
