A nice, gentle lane...

... as we call them in the UK! These were taken a few years back, but as I've just registered on photobucket, I thought I'd share them with you guys. This is my '94 imported Surf, it has the 3.0ltr TDi engine with auto box, she is totally stock except for the 1st gen wheels and 31" BFG's.... oh and the blanked off tailgate!

Sadly this lane has recently been reclassified to a 'Restricted Byway', which means no more vehicular access.

It begins at a secluded car park, then turning right after a narrow bridge there a little stream...

Then it's uphill for a while, nothing taxing, just plodding along in the woods, listening to the birds...

Then for about 200yrds it opens up.

[IMG][/IMG]

Then it gets a little steeper, but nothing too strenuous.... but at the top we can have a little flex!

And that's it, a lovely 20 minute detour on the way home from work. Hope you enjoyed them!!

That blows that it's been shut down. It looks like a real nice area to escape to every so often.

Do you mean lanes being closed? If so, yes. However if you mean views then no, they're quite varied.

Actually, I was more referring to difficulty, etc.

Difficulty? Nah, I'm confident to drive this alone, there's a lot worse!

Nice looking 4Runner.....or HiLux. I wish I had the 3.0 diesel. I'm stuck with the 3.0 gas(petrol) and 5 speed manual. What kind of fuel economy do you get with the 3.0 diesel? What kind of power do you have( 0-60 times???)

Ok, the wheels are very rare, I've only ever seen one vehicle in the UK with them fitted, and that was a 1st Gen 4Runner / Surf, I believe that they were an optional extra for them. They have a massive 'off set' due the difference between solid axle, leaf sprung 1st gens and my IFS.

As for the 3.0ltr, I get around 25mpg ish.... however I do run about 25% veg oil in it, so that makes things a bit cheaper! 0-60 is around 13 secs.... that's just counting in my head!
