Naches Pass Trail, WA Sept. 2008

A couple of my friends and I went out to Naches Pass for a leisurely trail ride. The weather was great and the scenery was beautiful as usual. We had a blast!

I have the 2000 4Runner Sport 5 Spd. with a newly installed ARB Tacoma Bullbar. Also along for the ride was a 2003 Tacoma TRD with armor and a 2005 Tacoma TRD.

This was a cherry popper for the 4Runner since I usually wheel my 98 TRD Tacoma. I was impressed with it even though it is open front/rear. I am used to the E-Locker with my Tacoma but the 4Runner did not cause much of a hassle.

Here are tons of pics from our journey. The last pic shows the 2005 nearly flopping. He was able to slowly back up and take a different line. Anyways, enjoy!!

Thanks, it was definitely different and a little more tippy feeling wheeling the 4Runner vs. my Taco, but both are very fun.

I like the "warning".

Either this guy is prepared... or those tires are junk.

Thanks for sharing. I agree with Wormhole, it's nice to see some trails with trees (and mud).

Great pics.
This one here is where I think I got stuck when I ran it years ago.

Stock '91 4Runner, street pressure in my tires, running boards, ect

I had to gun it in a few places to get over the huge roots in the trail, and that looks like the same spot almost.
A little ways before you come to the historic sign in there that is on the left.

Elvota:

I let my wife drive most of the time and she has not wheeled very much at all. One of the guys we were with had a "Student Driver" sign hidden away for the perfect time and this happened to be it. We got a kick out of it and it stuck there for the rest of the trail

The green Tacoma is very similar to mine. We run directional Baja Claw Radials so we both have two spares, one for each side. We always carry two spares, just cause we can I guess. So, to answer your question, he is just well prepared.

Corey:

Yea, the Naches Trail seems to change a little bit each year. Some spots get easier, some get harder. All in all it is a very fun trail that is very beautiful.

That's even funnier.
