Talking Multi Make off Road Run

Now I know we all love Toyota's, but come on. Do we hate the competition so much that we aren't going to wheel with them? Doubtful, so today I went with two of my friends and their "4x4's" and had ourselves an adventure! Got plenty of pics and all you with them should post as well. I would love to see what other people call, off-road vehicles.

Here's just a few of them. . .

There's a reason the emphasis is on my Yota!

The rest on here, http://s1086.photobucket.com/albums/j447/rolladude1166/.
And I leave the best for last!

No reason not to wheel with anybody who'll come along. It's a very rare occassion that I go wheeling with Toyotas only. Unless I'm wheelin' by myself, which I am more often than not. But that's besides the point...

So that's the infamous Bronco II you're always rescuing eh? Seems a little strange. Those Bronco IIs wheel rather well. Atleast my buddy's did. That and he's got better tires than you. I'd think he'd be having to pull you out more often with those nearly bald streets you got under there. Maybe not if all you guys do is sand and rock terrain stuff. Just what do you mean by "rescuing" anyways? And just how many times has that Cherokee had to rescue the both of you? Because we all know it'll outwheel both those rigs any day of the week. Though I hate having to admit that fact.

BTW, where's your front bumper and turn signals?

thanks for sharing. Yeah, those B2s wheel pretty well. Need more action shots!

jeeps will only outwheel yota's till they break down or snap a D35 axle.. which happens almost every time I have wheeled with a cherokee.

You should throw some channel or something on there for a bumper.. hit something and you will mess your stuff up.

cool fenders though!

With the right driver behind the wheel that bronco II may not get stuck so often, but he isn't exactly the best. Not saying I am eithier, plus that isn't the exact one. He blew the last one up. And surprisingly the Jeep has only had to rescue me once, although when he tried he got stuck as well.

When I bought the car it didn't have a bumper, and I have the turn signals. I just haven't had the money to get a bumper.

Well, two of them have a frame...

And I'm partial to frames...

Ewww, but the "other" one with a frame has a TTB... And those get real fun when the bushings or a ball joint goes... And they're real easy to set to the camber on

You can always make the front parking lights work as turn signals:

what's a ttb? And that sounds like a good idea about the side markers. Then I'll have 4 turn signals when I get the bumper!

Well I guess it's good for him that we don't do much snow up here in the high desert.

had a bronco ii at one point, POS if you ask me. If I had a real house and was not renting, well the thing woulda had the full size bronco suspension and a 351 ho motor put it it cus I had both at the same time. But because of idiot landlords blaming me and my rusted out bronco in the driveway they couldn't sell the house which was on the market 3 years before I moved in well, had to junk the full size.

Both had the TTB (twin "traction" beam) but neither flexed very well. Trick is to put the full size lower control arms on the bronco ii which would allow a lot more flex on the front end. Another problem with them was bump steer out the yin yang.

Oh yeah! My friends gets that alot when we go out. Plus he likes to get a little wild sometimes, which in my opinion isn't the best idea. Being that those are pretty top heavy cars.

Plus I feel that the 2.9 that it has is underpowered, but that may be just me?

Well, when I said "rather well", I was talking about in the snow. I never did see the thing crawl any trails. But that Bronco II my buddy had could chew through 3' deep snow like it wasn't even there. Maybe it was the tires? They were only 31s or 32s x maybe 10" wides, but the tread pattern was nice. Sort of a 1/2 all-terrain 1/2 mud terrain. I don't know, but that thing was unstickable in the snow. Open diffs too, I might add.

Mine was good in the snow too, I just didn't like the way it handled. Dog of a motor though 2.8 carb'd ewwww. The 2.9's weren't much better and were prone to warped heads.

Yeah those 2.9s aren't very low rpm happy. I think his handling is kinda sloppy, add that to a pretty bouncy suspension. Makes for nerve racking rides!
