mt. shasta cheprel trail closures

Hey just letting the nor cal folks know I was seraching for new traiuls and seen that the mt. Shasta OHV. Is closed due to the fires last year. They say they will reopen during the spring but efforts are slow going. Sounds like a fun place once it re-opens

I live in Mt. shasta. last year was crazy with smoke from the fires. there's a lot of mile wheeling in shasta, and some more complicated stuff near Yreka. I'm sure there's some harder wheeling somewhere close since there's so many trails but there are hundreds of miles of them so most of the time it's dead end logging roads.

Never been there, but im down to travel (somewhat) for some wheeling...

Whats up with the fires up there, a few years ago part of my property burnt from the french gulch fire. How bad was this shasta fire .

Hi from your neighbor over the hill (Humboldt.) I spent most of the 2008 hunting season hunting in new areas this year because road closures due to the fires. Toward the end of deer season they opened up most of the roads. I was amazed to find old skid roads from way back had been cleared, catted and were basically new roads. The great thing for us (wheelers) is these new open old skid roads lead to so many great wheeling spots. It is like a whole new area over here!
