Death Valley Memorial day weekend PICS
Went out to DV this weekend and beat up my Tacoma pretty good.
We had a great time and the trails were super fun. We did Goler Wash/ Mengel Pass and Pleasant Valley (I renamed it pucker valley)...I was a bit tense through several parts. Due to my long wheelbase and lack of experience, I ended up with some nice rock rash trying to hug the mountain around a tight turn. I ran into a few tacomas and a nice UNIMOG. We checked out Charlie Mansons cabin along with several other cool cabins. The weather was perfect nothing over 85. We had to find our way out of Mengel Pass/ Goler wash in the dark. My PIAAs came in real handy
I think the best part was crawling through 4 hrs of moderate difficulty trails at 9 at night, we took a few wrong turns but we made it back to town with a 1/4 tank of gas left :kewl: Im not sure what do do about my gouge, it looks cool but I am a little heatbroken. :o I also put a nice dent in my front factory skid plate. At one point along the trail we ran into 3 tacomas who we rode along with for most of the trail and ended up having dinner with. Dad and mom in the lead in a mildly modded Tacoma and two daughters with stock tacomas....Once of the nicest group of people I have ever met and they even have good taste in vehicles.
Carnage (Im new to carnage what would you guys suggest as far as repair?)
Pucker Canyon (where I did the damage)
Fun
Me and my friend scoping out the salt flats..
The greatest view of the whole trip for sure

Thanks
Yeah I went wheelin by myself, although I traveled behind the Tacomas I mentioned, most of the trail, on Goler wash and Mengel pass...Pleasant canyon I did solo. As I was hugging the mountain on that narrow trail I kept wondering what happens when to parties of vehicles meet on the single lane road going opposite directions, push off the oldest vehicle??
Backing up on some of these sections would be a real PITA!! Seems like there should be etiquite to which way to do a loop trail for that reason.
The dog is an Olde English Bulldogge.
" The modern Olde English Bulldogge is a reconstruction of the original Olde Bulldogge of the 17th and 18th century. Various genetic crosses have been used in carefully and thoughtfully planned breeding programs to obtain this goal. The foundation of most of today's Olde English Bulldogges can be traced to English Bulldog, American Bulldog, APBT and Mastiff."
"These dogs were used very selectively in various combinations to obtain the desired physical and mental traits of the original Olde English Bulldogge. The result has been a good looking Bulldogge of great athletic ability that is much healthier and physically fit without most or all of the problems that plague today's modern English Bulldogs. The goal of all Olde English Bulldogge breeders should be to produce genetically healthier Bulldogges that are free breathers, free breeders, and free whelpers"
Too much information????
Here is a close up...
He should look something like this in a few years..This is his grand sire
Sorry to get off topic...

I had a black truck once. Damn pinstriping kills the black paint! I'm sticking with lighter colors from now on.
That "scratch" is a nice one. I would go ahead an fix it, if it was my truck.
