AZ-Copper Creek/Sibley Mansion(Kinda) Pics**Dial up-Ye Be WARNED**

So, some friends and I tried to go camping near Sibley Mansion July 2-3 and as we approched the Mansion we were confronted by this:

We tried to go the other ways back to the mansion, and it was blocked off in all directions by locked gates.
Yeah right, Aerial video? or better yet Motion Cameras? WTF, like there is even electricity back there to monitor anything. Either way, we decided to abide by the Owners request and just went back to copper creek and set up camp in the wash right by the turn off to Blue Bird Mine:

Pic of our campsite from the Bluebird Mine:

On the way from Queen Creek to Copper Creek we passed The Boulders:

So, I HAD to be poser:

We think this is the Mining town of Oracle:

Here Lizard-Lizard:

The "town" of Copper Creek:

Some Mine remains:

Budha!!!

Bummer about the mansion. Thats been on my "to do" list for a while. Now I guess it will have to wait. Good call on respecting the owners rights though. No telling what sort of foolishness caused it to be posted off limits.

Yeah, if there is somewhere we are not supposed to go, and it is blocked off, I'm just not gonna go there. I don't want to take the chances of getting in trouble, getting shot, or being responsible for a trial getting closed.

Hey BLKNBLU - you live in Gilbert, I live in Chandler, we should hit the trails together sometime. I'm down to go any Saturday and or Sunday - except for this upcoming weekend cuz I'm in Detroit right and won't be home till next Sunday evening. But, for real, any other weekend than this upcoming weekend I'm down. I try to do some wheelin every weekend even if its just out to Saguaro Lake.

What beautiful scenery otherwise. No wonder places get closed down.

Ha!

Most of the spraypaint here is reserved for bridge overpasses.

Always respect private property rights. If it is posted "closed" then it is closed.

We wern't really sure what town it was, we drove by Oracle and through Mammoth to get to the trail to Sibley Mansion. Even with the Mansion area closed, we had soo fun! Maybe next time we go out that way we will hit up the Gallario's... Thanks for the info Aztegan!

there's a great trail that starts from mammoth through that range and goes back to wilcox, where you can pick wilcox apples from the tree and they make the best fresh baked apple pie. that trail is called carpet canyon part of the trail is held together by strips of carpet. great places to camp if you don't mind a few rattlesnakes.
