The one eyed one armed bandit waving at us??

Yes the yota made it down and then I followed the rubicon back up!

You can see the one that was stuccoed nearest to the camera:

This is one of the windows that was framed when the guy tried to turn this things into places to live... Unsuccesfully.

The water was high! You can see the trail on the other side.

So green along the river bottom!

Hope you enjoyed. We started at 8am and got home at about 6pm. Great long day!

Just saw your pictures.

A guy on my crew at work is leaving for Arizona right now for a vacation, and I told him about the coke ovens.

Ran a search here and this was at the top of the list for the search.

Awesome pictures, looks like fun exploring the area.

Man you had me dizzy looking through those first half dozen photos!

Cool photos of the ovens and river though. The Gila river valley looks real nice I have yet to make it out there. Looks like a good time.

When you get the rock sliders, you should check out the Martinez Canyon loop. I'm sure a group of us will be running it come fall, that is a must do if you havent.

Thanks Corey!

Brian,
I look forward to it. All that slider talk.. I think I may just go build my own. Its just a bunch of hard work in the 110 degree sun, right!

I'll get some trips lined up once it cools off a bit.

If you can get them done yourself...tough to beat that.

Otherwise the Stubbs sliders are top notch and for a newer truck I wouldnt cut corners. My roomate has the double kick out sliders...they are quality.

a few posts up their was talk about martinez canyon. thats an awsome run. with the white tanks closure on the west side of phoenix, everybody pretty much has florence junction or Table mesa. When you do the florence run if you would like a few extra rigs post it and ill bring my 4 runner or buggy depending on the heat. cant beat a/c in the 4 runner.

I can't wait to get out there & see some of the cliff dweller ruins & those beautiful canyons. I was just a little kids & in the floor board of a Ford pick up when I went through Az. the last time. The brain bake from lying on the floor & the summer heat mixed with the exhaust temps. caused me to forget most of it though.
