Bill Moore Lake, CO

I hooked up with the Colorado Springs Christian 4 Wheeler Club this morning to meet in the springs and go do the Bill Moore Lake trail. It was about a 2 hour drive there. That was my first 4x4 trail in CO since I moved here last week and I was pleasantly surprised with that club and the trail we took. The trail lead to a small shallow lake in a valley surrounded by 13,000+ peak mountains, the highest point on the trail at the lake read just under 11,000 feet. The forest in the area seemed to be kept very clean. I was the only toyota out there today, we probably had over 15 jeeps on the trail and than there was me in my stock SR5. Every jeep out there today was lifted and most were locked F/R with Mud tires on almost all of them, there was only one 4x4 wrangler that was stock with Muds on it. The guys seemed to be pretty surprised how my Runner made it up and down the harder/slippery spots on the trail as some of them expected I might have to turn around or take the easy route. All in all it was a very helpfull and welcoming club to wheel with for the day, all the people had a nice positive attitude out there and I really enjoyed the trail, plus the scenery was awesome. I will load some pics of the trip, since I am new to the site you can consider this my intro thread I guess.

The scenery was really cool, I took a bunch of pictures but didn't get any of the better action on the obstacles, there was one that was a little hairy for me with the rain and the slippery downhill soft dirt/mud trying to aviod a few larger rocks on the narrow decend, I did get a few compliments on the driving though.

Yeah, with all the Jeeps in that Christian 4X4 club, you'd think they were endorsed by Jesus...."trail rated by the son of god"

I've learned two things about wheelin' with Jeeps:
1. They're just as capable.
2. A stock 4Runner can hold (more than) it's own against a heavily modified Jeep.

Nice pics, by the way..

Yeah it was cool to actually find a christian 4x4 club like that, they were very friendly and down to earth people, helpful as ever also.

I'm located right by the walgreens/subway/papa murphys off centenial and vindicator/flying w. ranch on the west side of town by the mineing scar in the mountain
