What are these built axles worth
I happened across these: What do you think is a fair price for them? Will they pretty much be bolt in on my 88 V6 pickup with SAS? It's running the stock rear axle and an 84 solid axle in the front. I wanted to regear and install lockers anyway, this could save me the hassle.

not sure on the details, I have to call the guy. I think the rear spool would have to go though. $2000 ish, wow, He is practically giving them away then IMO. I'm just a little gun shy because it's real hard to know if everything was set up properly.

yea dude it will work. then u can sell your old axles for a couple hundred, not sure about thoes 9/16th wheel studs? he didnt list spacers for the front axle so you might need thoes to match the rear

ya I'm not sure what he means by the studs either. I have the front wheel spacers on now, but thanks for the heads up. I've been out of the older Yota stuff game for awhile, so I want to make sure I don't make a bad decision here and overlook something. He only wants 800 for them both, which seems hard to pass up.

I've seen similar setups go in the $1100-1300 range. That is with highsteer from Marlin, All-Pro, or Trail-Gear. If it is some welded together hack job, then walk away. Warn hubs suck, so swap over your Aisin hubs from your current axle.
What is the guy asking for them?
It may be worth it to just swap the 3rds into yours already. Your V6 rear 3rd will be stronger, but if the setup was spot on, a 4cyl is only marginally weaker. You will lose your E-brake with the rear discs though. And, there isn't much of a remedy for that since you have a V6.

Personally I think I would HATE spool rear and full time front locker. Yuck. Especially back there in PA where you get weather. Maybe swap the Detroit diff to the rear and get an ARB installed into the spooled 3rd and put that up front.
Also they could be 4 cyl diffs which some argue are less strong than 6 cyl, but I personally think it's not enough difference to worry about especially if the deal is good enough.

He only wants $800 for both. I got all excited at first, now I'm realizing they might not be the way to go for me. Too many things I don't want, rear discs, rear spool, 4 cyl diffs. Still seems like a screaming deal to me though.

Highsteer would net $199 for a used setup.
front axle by itself is $300 with the vented rotors and IFS calipers.
The rear is another $500 with the 5.29 3rd and spool.
The rear disc conversion is around a $400 mod alone, so you might get more for the rear axle too.

Good points ScottyC & I think I should rephrase (not that it matters, hehe):
They weren't what I was looking for and I don't want the hassle of buying them & reselling them myself. I'm sure they're a great deal to anyone looking for a setup similar to that.

I got this response back from the seller
the front axles are still birfields the gears have been broke in properly the rear axle is not a full floater it has sky manufacturing caliper mounts and chevy yukon rotors the gears where installed on my 4-runner in NC when i worked at a shop called Extreme Offroad there is a my space page for the shop we did everything there from full tube chassis for rock crawling and circle track racing and daily driven trucks on 49 iroks so everything is done right on these axles
Anyone ever heard of Extreme Offroad in NC? I know there are a lot of hack off road shops out there. ScottyC's recommendation to buy them and part them out might not be a bad idea.
