IFS Box for 84 Pickup.

Hey All,

I am going to pick up an IFS Steering Box off of a 1993 4Runner SR5.

It is itended to go on my 1984 Pick-up to allow Hi-steer.

I know i have get the mounting kit, with the plates and what not. I am getting the lines with it.

Just wanted to make sure that i am getting to proper steering box for what i want to do, and i am not going to run into any issues.

Are the any differences between 1st and 2nd gen 4runner IFS boxes.

I have read the swap guides here already, just want to make sure i am getting the right box.

Thanks.

Just make sure its an 86-95 4wd IFS box. The 89-95 box is slightly larger and a little stronger from what ive heard.(compared to the 86-88)(both work fine) Marlin had the best prices at the time. I have both boxes...the 88-89 on my 85 pickup and just bought a 89-95 box im installing on my 4runner. hope this helps

Its coming off a 93 4runner SR5, so i would assume its a 86-95 4wd box.

Right?

You assume correctly sir. Dont waste you money on a Marlin or TG box. you can buy one already drilled and tapped for hydro assist for a quarter of the price of their stock ones.
Your box will work fine.
