SAS installation in/around Los Angeles
Took my 1st gen to Miller Jeep trail over the weekend. I finished the trail without a hiccup, but the though of an CV breaking in some of the tougher sections made me realize that i need to SAS it. I also want to put 35" tires and I know the IFS will not handle it. I don't have the equipment or the time to do it myself so I was wondering if you guys know any shops that will do the installation and approx how much $$ will it run. Called few places but they had no idea what i was talking about. I appreciate any help.

Now, as far as an SAS goes. Would you want it linked, or leafed? would you be supplying the axle and kit? for a shop to do a proper SAS would be somewhere around the 2,500-3,000 range in labor. ( i've called around here in nor cal just for gigs )

whoa, $2500 to $3000 just for installation? Little higher than what i was expecting. Yes I will supply everything that they need. SAS kit, axle, etc... If it's going to be $2500+ to install, plus $1500 for the kit and the axle and probably another $500 for other stuff, I'm better off selling mine and getting either an 85 or one that has been converted already.

curious to see what solutions present themselves here.
i have a 94 and everything just about ready minus Fr/Rr Eleockers setup and housings mod'd.... and would like to get the install going if anyone can help me. west lost angels here. the estimates i am getting are WAY outta my budget.
also got a yotamasters quote, but at $4500. there is also toyota land cruisers(tlc4x4) in the valley but they specialize in cruisers, but are all yota. jay meyers is a cool guy over there.

I second this. The guys at Yotamasters know what they're doing. http://www.yotamasters.com/

So it looks as if a team of traveling techs would do the community some greatly needed lost angels assistance. What would be cool: 6 or 8 guys around l.a. who could meet up with yotatechers n marliners and help them out with installs, fabbing, mechanical n tear downs. Service/assistance for goods(beer, food, parts, help on their projects etc...) or perhaps they'd have an hourly rate affordable by many of us and it'd be semi-negotiable and or whatever . I am in the 'help needed' camp, however I'd be down to help out anyone not too far but not as skilled as much of the talent seen here on the boards.
