Tire Rub 285-75 w\ Rev-Tek 3"
Hello everyone. I am a new member to this forum for my 4Runner. This forum was recommended to me by the Guru Gadget. I have an issue and I am desperate for an answer. I put 285-75-16 on my 02 Runner. The tires I chose were Nitto Terra Grapplers. With the Rev-tek 3" spacer lift, I am still getting tire rub up front on my flares. I've been thinking about replacing the coils w/ OME springs. Can/should I use some type of spacers with them or will that make the CV angles too extreme? I only have a few hundred miles on these tires so I'd like to fix them problem asap, the right way! Any suggestions would be appreciated,
Thanks again, Doug
Thanks again, Doug

I have a 2 1/2" lift with the same size tires but in a BFG All-Terrain. I did have alittle rubbing on my flares when turning, so I trimed about an inch off the very inside of the flare(angle cut up front on the bottom corner)and trimmed the backside of the wheel well where there is a factory weld. No problems anymore

Thanks Paul, I will give that a try. Are you still running stock springs with the spacers? Maybe I'm an addict but I'd still like to increase my ride height maybe another inch or two if it doesn't create any problems. The tires look awfully cramped in there. Kinda like the 10 lbs of sh#* into a 5 lb bag deal. I'll post a pic as soon as I can.
BTW, nice looking ride!

02Runner, first off welcome to the board! I too ran the RevTek spacers with stock springs. I was running the 285/75/R16 Goodyear MT/R's and I had some rubbing as well. A little trimming of the plastic and some griding down of the pinch weld and you should be good to go!!

The grill is from good 'ol Home Depot. It's gutter guard and total cost with zip ties to mount around $10. Grill Craft has similiar for around $225. I think they look about the same and a whole lot cheaper. Takes alittle bit to get the exact shape but adds a nice look.

Ok, thanks for the replies:confused:
Extreme: you think I'd have problems running my spacers with OME med duty springs?
AllOtherNamesTakenSo you say you have 2.5" Spacers with OME springs and have no issues with CV angles? If thats the case, I think I'm going to do the same. your settled 2.5" lift comes from the spacers only? You didn't get any lift from the springs?
Anyways, thanks guys, I hope I may be of some assistance to you at some point. I am also gaining experience (bruises & sore wallet) from my 71 FJ40.
