engine light

hey looking for some help or suggestions on my 99 taco engine light 3.4.me and a friend put it on a computer and it read a code bank 1 sensor 2 code po136 . im not to sure im still new with this . anyone with some ideas or salutions i would much appreciate it . i do notice a drop in fuel mpg and a lower ruff idle but not all the time. HELP thanks Ken. also where sensors might be located. or any sites with info.thanks

thanks for the info do you know if the o2 is before the cat or after the cat.and where i can buy one.thanks ken

On mine it is before cat, but yours is gonna be different. Just follow the exhaust. You can get one just about anywhere. And when you are buying one ask them.

3rd gen the a/f is before the cat, and 02 is after the cat.

All oxygen sensors used for adjusting fuel mixture will be before the catalytic converter. Some vehicles have an additional oxygen sensor after the cat, but it is used to confirm the cat is working, not to adjust fuel.

Only california 4runners use A/F sensors all other states use O2 sensors. And it should be after the Cat.
