eBay Hi-Lift Legit?
I was looking at this hi-lift on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-4...11596471QQrdZ1
The price is really good, which makes me question the quality a little. Most 48" hi-lifts I've found go for $70 +. What do you guys think? Should I go for it?

It's not a Hi-Lift brand, looks like a cheap copy. And by the time you pay shipping on a 30 lb jack you're not going to save much. Personally I'd spend the extra money and get the real thing locally.

If it looks too good to be true - then generally, it is! There are some legit, unbelievably good deals out there...but in my experience, they're pretty rare and never on ebay! :p

I have a knock off with a "John Deere" label (yup - the tractor)...
It works so so..
But I got it for $10 from a friend of an aquaintence who had it in the garage and wanted to get rid of it to a good home..

DONT buy a hi lift brand jack. I KNOW I KNOW, my friend has one and the thing is a pile of junk and brand new. my other friend bought a harbor freight farm jack and it works 10x better.

Tread lightly Ga 95.
here in Ga, we love our tread lightly. For the very little legal trail riding we have, we can't afford to let anymore of it get closed, remember what your actions look like to outsiders!!
On a side note, since your here in Ga, you may want to hit up the Ga TTORA board, you should list me as your referral when you join up. its a great binch of guys who love to wheel!!!

I have both the cheapo 48" TSC brand and a real 60" Hi Lift. The Tractor Supply Company one is ok. It does the job just fine, but the release/engage lever is a POS, and it dosent always engage right off, and it sticks in place sometimes. It will hold the weight and work every time though. My 60" Hi Lift brand works much better though, it's smoother and easier to use, basically feels like a more quality peice.

the hi lift probably is smoother but i'll take my atwood's farm jack over a hi lift any day.
beefier and rated for a higher weight.
don't buy the ebay jack. you can buy it at any farm supply store for that price and not pay shipping. or if you wait for a sale you can get it for 30.

huh, never heard of Atwood before. Where did you pick it up?
Really, these things are not rocket science, it's not to hard to build a decent farm jack. As long as it doesnt fall apart while I'm under the truck, it's good enough for me I actually do use my TSC jack more, just because my hi-lift is mounted on my truck, and when I'm just dicking around the garage it's easier to grab the little TSC.

harborfreight farm jack on sale now for 29.99. Cant beat that price. the lower pin didnt want to work right on my friends hi lift brand jack and every time we wanted to lower it one notch we had to beat the little arm above the top pin with a hammer(2x4 piece of wood) to get it to release. It took forever to lower it, then when its lowered back down it randomly falls all the way down.
