The guy who's still fixing my transmission told me he got some if not all of his parts from a company called Borg Warner. He said it's as heavy duty as you can get.

They make very good gearboxes, used by a lot of European auto manufacturers. Should be good stuff.

used by a lot of domistic auto makers too. i have a warner t-18 in my runner its pretty much bullet proof ,very strong but heavy

they are pretty stout.... bw is what liek all the fords use for tcases... and they are tough

i have seen more New Process tcases than BW but i work mostly on older fords

ever heard of the jeep aw4 automatic(the one behind the 4.0)? the AW stands for "aisin warner".

also, toyota has used borg warner auto trannies in some of their vehicles, like the toyota century.

Because I assume the guys in here mostly dealt with 4 and 6 cyl engines. Just because it is a BW does not mean it is the best or strongest. Borg had their ups and downs. The T5's are ok tranny's that came in Mustang, Camaro's and other cars. They didn't last long behind a V8 when you lightly modified the motor. Like every company their is good and bad. Sometimes companies use stuff that came from V8's and then when you put it behind a 4 or a 6 it lasts due to the fact that the torque of these motors are low for the most part. Actually Borg Warner was bought out by Tremec. So you still can get parts for most of the popular stuff but now it may be named as a Tremec. Overall Borg is a very good company when making most tranny's. I also heard and do not know if this is true, but the Aisan-Borg was actually a Borg design and built by the Japanese. Whether if this is true or not I do not know. I can honestly trust Aisan tranny's and most of you would probably back that up as well.

Does Borg Warner make valve bodies? Mine keeps sticking. I falls on its face immediatly at 2500 RPMs in D. In L and 2 it will pick up but it drags. GOING BACK in tomorrow to get that serviced. I'm not sure if it's the mechanics or what.....

Borg Warner is a big company. They made more than just tranny's. It is possible they made throttle bodies, but not sure.

It's true! The AX15 in the jeeps is the same transmission as the R150F. You can swap the bellhousings and rear end plates (to fit your tcase) and bolt em in. You can also tear them apart and exhange the internal parts. There are a couple of very minor differences, but they're small. Since Dodge truck engines generally share the same bolt pattern, with a bellhousing swap and *maybe* swapping the input shaft, you can put nearly any jeep or dodge truck engine (i.e. 4.0, 4.2 sixes, 4.7, 5.2, 5.9 V8) in your yota quite easily. How cool is that?
