1999 4runner OME 881/890 with 1/4" top plate spacer ?

Last week I ordered the OME 881/890 through a local shop through Toytec. I also ordered the 1/4" TO spacers (~ 1/2" lift) vs the normal ones (3/4 lift).

I am having 2nd thoughts on this setup for the front. I am worried that it will have too much rake and I should have gotten the bigger TO spacer to compensate for that.

There is also the option of running the OME front trim packer to bring it up another 5mm. Of course I dont have these yet and the lift is supposed to come in tomorrow and I was planning to install.

So, I guess my otions are to:

A) Install what I have
B) Order bigger TO spacer and try to sell the ones I will get with the kit
C) Keep current TO spacer and add the 5mm trim packer

I do have the factory spare, tow package, and tool box (50 - 75 #'s) in the back if that makes any difference in bringing down the rear.

Sorry for the ramble, but I really only want to have to install this once and want to get it right the first time. Basically what I am looking for is minimal rake, maybe 1/2" with the vehicle partially loaded (toolbox is always in the back).

I would see if they would let you exchange the smaller spacers for the larger ones. They may let you if you haven't installed them. I would run the 3/8" top out spacer, but that's just me.

I have the OME 3" kit with the standard springs, and the spacer. 1/2" maybe? Anyways, I have the hitch and about 100-125 lbs. of tools and stuff in the back. No spare.

Hmm... Well your TO spacer has replacement studs which normally come with the 3/8" spacer (which provides around 3/4" of lift). I like the stance that you have.

Im really anxious to do this suspension setup as well for the performance aspects, i.e less body roll, but would prefer to leave my 99 limited at stock height or a 1" lift at most. Any suggestions?

I think the OME spring are nice. My braking is way better because the front end doesn't dive near as much. Cornering is much better too. And I don't get that crazy rebound in the back any more.

I definitely want to go OME for the performance aspects but I was just hoping for a stock height or +1" kit and I cant seem to find an option made by anyone. Maybe the Bilstein shocks with a new set of stock 1999 springs? My last ditch thought was the 2" lift kit and cutting the springs to make it a 1" lift.

The 881 coils with no spacer and 906 coils for the rear will give you 1" lift over stock on your '99 4runner. Don't forget, it's likely that your 4runner came with the taller stock springs in the first place.

I'm ordering this same setup in the next couple of days, so I'm anxious to see where your rig sits after install. I too want to make sure I get it all right the first time, so any information is great.

Not sure how I'm going to tackle the install yet. If you have any pointers/pics on that, post them for sure.
