Talking swapped89's 1999 4Runner Build-Up Thread

So the cv's went out on my girlfriends runner. Im guessing it s because of the 3'' revtek lift. So my solution was TOTAL CHAOS long travel kit up front, and a SONORAN steel 1.2 rear. (later on maybe deavers and some expensive shocks, but for now 1.2) Here are some pics of the kit and our progress.

Tonight we didnt get a whole lot of progress, but we did some stuff. 2 of the 4 mis-alignment spacers on the lower control arms were rusted together so i had to cut them off with a sawzall. ugh that took forever and a few blades. Once we got those off we installed the new steering rack bushings and re-located the bump stops from the lower control arms to the place on the frame where they used to hit.

2 of the 3 steering rack bushings

FOUND SOME RUST TO GRIND AND PAINT before all the goodies go in.

Also wire wheelin and cleaning spindles for gussets and paint

Ya i know. She cant wait to bomb the dunes in it. we were gonna SAS it but after we thought about it. It sounded better to have a yote for both types of fun. SAS yote for crwalin and muddin. and a long travel yote for high speed shinanagins

Work as u say does not bother me I actually enjoy doing this stuff. It will be 62's with a spring under axle and probably not coil over but 2 triple bypass shocks.
We'll see... that is a ways down the road.
