My passenger side rear-most cab mount squeaks when I hit minor bumps in the road. I loosened it a couple of weeks ago and squirted oil around it and it stopped for a while but with the added dust of gravel roads, it has started up again.
Do you have to lift the cab to replace these? It looks like you do.

Mine's a 1998 4x4 SR5 Extra Cab.

Has anyone else had this problem, and what have you done to fix it?

I did them awhile back, bought them from energy suspension. You gotta lift the cab to change them, its not a hard job just time consuming. Id suggest you take out all the bolts and then use a jack to lift up one side at a time and place a 4x4 between cab and frame to support it so you can work.

How much did you have to lift it and did you have to disconnect anything?

I may just keep oiling it and live with the squeak for a while.

I did all four ball joints this summer and should have done the control arm bushings while I was in there. Maybe this winter.....

The control arm bushings suck, I took my arms off and paid a shop to put new ones in.

I lifted it about 6-8 inches. Enough to get my hands in there really.

Sounds like that rear mount failed. Usually what happens is that the rubber tears away from the steel bracket it is molded inside. When that happens, the center part drops down and the bottom of the cab ends up resting on the frame bracket. Should be easy to inspect the bottom of that mount, look for signs of the rubber tearing away from the outer steel piece. Compare that bushing to one that doesn't squeak to see if there are any visible differences.

Hey Guys,
I wanted to post a quick update that may help someone else here.
When I removed the nut and washer on the bottom of the cab mount, I could see that the rubber inside looked like it had separated from the inner sleeve a little. After several attempts at a band aid, I think I found one that worked.
Today, I made a donut out of a piece of half inch high density Polypropylene, like a plastic cutting board. It is about a half inch thick, OD of about 1 1/2 inch and ID of 3/4 inch. I removed the nut and washer, put the donut in, replaced the washer and nut and cranked it down. The plastic fits up inside of the mount and puts a good 'squeeze' on the rubber. NO MORE SQUEAK!


I cut a couple more donuts for future use if needed. Just wanted to pass this along.
