Turning a 22RE-TEC into 22R

Is this possible? i know the compression is different.....I have a 22r with a hole in the block, and also have a 22re-tec engine that runs. Can the 22RE-TEC be converted into a non turboed 22R w/ a carb? ?Thinking about something for the '83.

I think the head on the 22re-t has a smaller combustion chamber, hence the lower compression..couldn't you just put the top end from the 22r (head, intake, carb, exhaust) onto the 22re-t block?

Why not just pull the blown motor and put in the 22re-t like it is since it already runs?

That was the original plan....But i decided that i did not want to fool with the turbo and all that stuff....Just wantin a plain ol' carberated 22R again.

Y dont you just sell the 22re-t and put that money to a 22r then you aint got to worry bout changen nething and some who wants a turbo can get the use out of it. Or find someone to trade with even thats my .02
