Estimate on repair work

I was just quoted $850 for PS high pressure hose assembly (including labor) on a 3rd gen 4Runner from Firestone Service Center... anyone have any better suggestions for this? Does this sound right?

From my experience let firestone deal with tires and nothing else. Everything I seen or heard of them doing has been extremely pricy

You might get some more opinions if we knew what part? Or even what vehicle?

They wouldnt give me a part number... just told me: power steering return line assembly. Vehicle is a 97 4Runner SR5 4x4 V6.

Just got another opinion from an independent shop and they quoted $600. Is this a part I could find used pretty easily? Thanks for replies.

I wouldn't let firestone touch a damn thing on your vehicle other than the tires. I'd sooner train a monkey than let those jokers anywhere near it. IMHO.

I'd probably take my truck to the dealer before I let firestone touch it.

Does your FSM indicate this part removal?

If its just the high presure power steering hose, then replace it your self, it can`t be that hard. There is no way i would pay 600 - 800 dollars to have someone else do it.
