^ the heads will not swap it has been tried before...

If you can, design a short runner intake manifold for your setup as well and you might as well change redline to 6250ish rpm to help make power.

Short runners helps airflow up high with loss of tq down low.

because its been done
because its boring
because its not toyota
because this would be very unique and shut some people up saying the 3vz-e cant make power...

To name a few....not to put words in his mouth but im sure a couple of those would be a reason

Exactly. Even a 250hp/300tq 3vze would shut EVERYONE's mouth about it being a junker engine, much less what 350-400hp!

thank you sir i was waiting for someone to back me up.

short runners= higher hp
longer runners= higher torque?

but what about expanding them? making the run say about 1/4 larger?

im really trying to shoot for over 300hp. Bumpin did you get to crunching those numbers yet? i just think ill prolly go a single turbo for right now. also Weazy did you ever find out about the connecting rods??

Heh anytime i dont like the SBC swaps

SHort runners = higher rpm PEAK hp
Longer runners = lower rpm PEAK hp
So say you ran 20" intake runner then your peak tq is around....3500rpm,
decrease that by 10" and the peak power would be in the 7000rpm range. OF course those numbers are EXACT but i can figure out that kind of info if need be. I am running on 7 hours of sleep in last 2 days as i just came home from 24 hour relay for the kids and very tired...cant think....ill get back to you more..

As for turbo...go single...period do not mess with twin unless you really can figure things out, the single will be perfect.
The rods looks the same but i am sending them out to get verified.

yea im just think of switching the whole exhaust piping to the other side since there is more room over on to the passenger side and the turbo over there. which turbo do you guys recomend? .63a/r or bigger?

Well im not sure if this is still my thread but I finally got a video clip up of my exhaust.
I don't know why but the lumpy idle is kinda hard to make out with this video. My friend forgot to put the other video clips of the exhaust on the cd.
video has a lame brakestand attempt on the grass... then I almost hit my friend filming its all in good fun, I have a few more videos from that night and will upload them and post if anyone wants to see what we do in our spare time

Yeah its custom,
stocker was cut off 3" before old cat, 2.25" pipe welded to that, then a magnaflow stainless cat into a flowtech redhot (glasspack), routed a little different then stock (less bends)
