So...
Ive decided i don't *want* to take a razor blade to that trim unless I have to. I decided I really like the way it looks, and I dont have saltwater worries.
Any recommendations for gluing down those corners?
Ray, i saw you recommend dow 995 http://www.dowcorning.com/applications/search/default.aspx?R=501EN in a different thread, do you have any experience with it? It looks great as a sealant, I just worry about its adhesive properties to the trim. I have some scrap trim i could test on i suppose
3m 08008 weather stripping adhesive seems to be another option, but it looks like it's more for thin layers not a big gap
http://3mcollision.com/3m-super-weatherstrip-adhesive-08008.html
Any thoughts?
Edit
The dow shows a higher pounds per inch peel strength, so if it adheres to the trim that would be the way to go.

I'm just afraid they're gonna want to pull the windshield again and scratch up my channel :p

The 995 was the best silicone I could find - the solvent it uses is non-corrosive - in fact from what I remember it's used to convert rust to good compound.
However, if you can get some of the urethane adhesive they use for the windshield, that would be best. It's the strongest and proven for that application. I took a picture of this inside Safelite's van...

Safelite came out to my work Friday and filled the top corners with urethane, taped it down and let it sit 24 hrs, and boom, the corners look great. Plus, this solves the issue of dirt getting in that gap and clogging things up. I'll post up more pics tomorrow after I sand and paint around it.

Finally posting up photos of the completed ordeal
I got some rattle can primer on it, to hold me over till the weather is nice enough to paint the whole thing outside (so sad I have to say that )
staying on topic, the glued down trim looks quite good. Installing it curled up and then gluing down looks much better than most others I've seen. Plus the glue seals that little gap at the top, should help prevent dirt from getting in there
Still need to trim the tabs that hold the cowl in place.
