couple questions about removing 3vze from tranny

93' 3vze 4x4 auto sr5 runner--blown(it is going out, not completely blown yet) HG
so i am swapping out my busted 3vze for a one with less miles and good compression.
i've prepped the engine almost down to the bellhousing bolts. i need to remove the starter,a/c, and downpipe nuts. then i will be ready to remove the bellhousing bolts.
it is AUTO
my questions are, if i pull the motor out with the pressure plate and torque converter still on it, how do i install it correctly when i put in my new motor?
if i remove the 6 bolts on the pressure plate, does it just slide back on the tranny?
i am pretty smart and observant, but this is my first time pulling an engine, and i need someone to throw me a bone and help me through this before i put it back together and ruin it..
thanks

Step 21 just follow the book it's a standard sequence like you do your lug nuts. no voodoo involved.

This step always cracks me up "(b) Lower the engine with transmission into the engine
compartment" sounds so easy right.

Honestly it's much easier to slip the whole assembly in than it is to line up the transmission shaft. Added bonus all the bellhousing bolts are easy to get to when it's swinging on the crane.

+1 remove the two as a whole, i did it the hard way twice, it sucks! While you're doing all this work, you might as well swap in a 5 speed If not at least change the tranny filter and fluid.... good luck

thank you for that link. i would prefer to pull it with the tranny together but i am very limited to space, for instance when i pull my motor im going to have to take it out of my garage and roll it around the house when i take it to swap for my newer motor

do it the hard way first and you'll find it easier the next time...and without the funds to eliminate the x-over, im just giving myself practice for what will re-occur hahaha...one learns to cope with what he has especially when there are no good 5 speeds available.
but yes my tranny is due for some love!
