22RE Exhaust Manifold Interchangeability?
My latest discovery (occurs daily) on my 86 4Runner is that my exhaust manifold has a 1 inch crack in it right above the O2 sensor. I slopped on some patch in a tube from AutoZone, but will want to replace it shortly.
I'll likely get one local at a scrap yard. However, when researching online on ebay I was noticing that many were listed as 88-95. I was expecting 85-95 to be same.
Can someone tell me what year range I should be sourcing a replacement from?
Thanks!

I believe 89-95 should not have an O2 sensor port on the exhaust manifold. The 85-88's should have the port. I believe you need to get the y-Pipe that goes with its year.

I believe that in or around 1988, the EFI system was modified from using one O2 sensor to then two. Not 100% sure about that fact but I think that in the later models they do have an O2 placed right around the Catalytic converter either before or after...Like I said not 100% sure could totally be wrong.
If I were you, be sure to purchase an exhaust manifold that does have the O2 sensor bung in the original location. Had a heck of a time myself with this issue when installing an OBX header, and my truck ran like a datsun for two weeks before a $8 bottle of seafoam and 35 miles of redline driving cleaned everything out.
Plenty of reasonably priced exhaust manifolds on ebay for the 86 pickups starting around $60 for the cheapest.

My stock manifold has the o2 bung, the header I want has it in the exhaust pipe. Not worried about that, the bolt and exhaust port holes matching are my only concern.
Thanks for the quick reply
