Floor Rot

Floor Rot
Well, I was poking around with my 4runner the other day and discovered the dreaded floor rot on the Drivers side by the Mount. Its funny because it is the only spot on the whole thing that has any Rot. I will post some Pictures later today for some advice.
My Main Concern is that the Mount half on the body panel is kind of swiss cheese like and it rotted away from the front half of the mount-to-rocker location.
Also, I was in the process of cutting out the rust and noticed that my Rear heater coolant likes are rusted through and just so happened to leak today.
Not sure what to do about the mount. Not sure If I should try and make a new one, patch the old one, or cut one off of a 4runner at my local U-pull-it (there are a few there that are in decent shape)

if you goto you pull it snag me some manual hubs!!! no you pull it for miles .... if it were me id just attempt to fab something up....
id take measuments and get something like this
and beat it into place recarpet and id modify the center consol to be more usefull (because my lid is broken ....)
pull a part would probably be cleaner and cheaper (if there prices are anything like the ones in seattle however they wont let you bring in a cutting tourch) .... also maybe check auto body shops for some banged up ones .....

Yeah, Im going to try and either get new coolant lines from the dealer or make some out of rolled brake line.
As far as the mount goes, I am trying to Plate it right now to reinforce it a little. It is surprisingly still strong, even with the one part of it rotted out.
Just seems to be a Long Pain in the @$$ project, That I refuse to Half @$$.
Ill keep you updated.

Welding is not a problem. I used to teach it.
Im just having a hard time deciding how to go about this.
right now I am thinking that I might separate the rocker inner and outer and leave the inner attached to the floor pan and weld the whole thing in at once.

Made some progress on the floor this morning before work. I decided to use a spot weld cutter to separate what's left of the floor pan and inner rocker from the rest of the body.
Then I am going to separate the new piece I got the same way, and rosette weld it back in place at the seams, and weld the rest of the panel in place.
Will post some more updated pictures tomorrow as I along.

I had the same rot. I cut until I got to good metal, then tacked in a piece of thin steel, then had a buddy who is much better at welding finish it up. Looks good and is solid. I don't know if it was the best way to do it, but seems to work fine.
