85 pu 4x4 sr5 22re clutch ?'s
Ok so im relatively new here...i have replaced the master and slave cylinders...now I still don't have any pressure in the pedal at all...upon putting the slave in I noticed the what I believe to be the clutch fork has no "pressure" which I believe is supposed to push it forward into the slave cylinder...i can move the fork by hand... Is that supposed to be like that? Any ideas would be appreciated

Ok sorry my issues is this I bought this truck bout two weeks ago I drove it the first day to and then from work...the clutch (not even a yr old) wouldn't engage until the floor and barely then... The master and slave cylinder were bad I replaced both...i now have no pressure in the pedal at all and ive tried bleeding it twice to no avail...my clutch fork? The think that the skave pushes..i can move that by hand back and forth...is that normal? If not what's that mean exactly? And do I need pressure on my slave cylinder to bleed it properly

First off, how are you bleeding the slave, and second, is the fork able to move up and down? After bleeding the clutch, is there and gap between the end of the slave, and the fork? And are you sure you got a good master and slave from the parts store?

I bleed the slave on the slave at the bleeder....same way u bleed brakes pump it up break it open and all that...no I can move the fork forward and backward like the slave would do...and im pretty certain they are good...but don't I need pressure on the slave to bleed it properly?

What you need to do is troubleshoot. I have bought a master from advance or autozone before, dont remember, that was bad when I put it in. When bleeding put your thumb on the blender valve, when someone presses the pedal a good master will have the force to move your finger. If your getting pressure, master is good, on to the slave. Close bleeder and see if the slaves rod pushes out with some force. If so its not the slave. Putting the rod of the slave on the fork should be tight. If the fork is loose and not tight against the slave it sounds like the metal clip that keeps the fork tight has fallen out of its place. This means you have get into the bellhousing to get it on there again. Tyranny has to be separated to do this unless you can get it by pulling the rubber boot off the fork and getting to it right from there. Remember most all parts from stores like advance and autozone are remanufactured. Some dude in India is prob rebuilding your cores. Good luck and update.

Oh ya a good way to bleed is take a clear bottle, put some brake fluid in it. Then get some clear rubber hose that will fit over the bleeder valve and run it into the bottle and submerged in the fluid. This will make sure NO air gets back into the system and you can see when you have a nice fluid only push, with no bubbles.

So didn't drop the trans just unbolted everything and slid it backwards but the clutch fork was off the throwout beating and fixed that and put it back together and bled the cylinders and all is well...fired it up and now have to do head gasket YaY for me!
