85 4 runner cruise control cable

I just purchased an 85 4 runner to restore. The cruise control cable is there but not attached to the throttle body, any idea where/how it attaches to, pics?

The cable seems to be running from the actuator under the hood to the throttle body, right beside the throttle cable, but is not hooked up there. I am assuming you mean it starts at the gas pedal? Maybe I am confused.

Cable runs from servo, just below the brake m/c reservoir and back through the firewall to connect to the top of the gas pedal:

The cruise control uses a vacuum diaphram for the cruise. There is a cable going through the firewall connected to the gas pedal. It uses the vacuum to actuate the gas pedal. Basically sucking the pedal to the floor when you turn on the switch and set coast. Nothing goes to the throttle it self except vac lines to and from the vacuum motor.

Sorry to beat this to death, but the cable I believe is for the crusie control, comes from a black blox just below the MC and is clipped on (looks like factory clips) along side the throttle cable with a large metal clip right before the throttle body. I can slide this cable back and forth and it feels like it is on a wheel in that black box with about 4 inches of play. There is only an electrical connection going into that black box. Could this be an after thought type cruise control.

It may be an after market unit or one from a later Toyota model (they are all electric).
This is the factory vacuum servo (on my '85):

O.k, I think I am getting closer. When I turn the cruise on inside the the cab and push the cable back into the box, a motor starts to run, when I pull it back it stops. So I must have an eletric type cruise control, anyone have any idea on this?

Problem solved!! It is an after market cruise control. The cable coming from this box runs along the main throttle cable and wraps around with the throttle cable along the curved part of the throttle (so not sure of the techinal name). It basically piggy backs the throttle cable. It is all electrical. I re-attached it and it works great. I hope this helps anyone else with this type!!
