1985 22re problems with timing
#1
1985 22re need help no blue engine connectors Picture at bottom post
We put a new head,rv cam, headgasket and all new timing componets in the 4 runner. It has an rv cam from enginebuilder. I am sure the cam and crank are lined up. But anyhting is possible, I read the shop manual and it says 12 degrees before top dead center and it still overheats but runs ok. I know a few vacuum lines are wrong, what looks like idle air control valve or something is not plugged in anymore because we can't find the right lines for it.
I set the cam and crank spun it around and they are still lined up. Then I jump the plug to stop computer from advancing, and set it to 5 deg before tbc runs like crap, fsm says 12 degrees still overheats and don't feel like it should. What am I doing wrong. When at 20 degrees before tbc it runs ok, but high idle, but it don't seem right. I have played with the distributer gear to make sure it's pointing at number one. Pulled it out spin it both directions to be sure its can't be a tooth off,
I don't know what else to do. Where exactly is the timing supposed to be? Engine builder says 5 befoer tbc, fsm says 12, you would think it should be 0.
If anyone has a diagrahm for the vaccum lines it would be much appreciated.
There is just to much left to guess, shop manual differs from fsm, and differs from what others are saying.

I think we may have the timing worked out, he had me jumping wrong thing alltogether. LOL not a yellow plug, it's a black box.
The vacuum lines are still a problem.
Have a light blue plug, that is a mystery.
This website rocks! So much usefull information here, helping keep the old yota running!

Need to know what plugs connect to blue and I have 2 vacuum lines going to red
I mean only one vacuum line going to the part circled in red. I do not have any blue connectors and I am hoping that figuring this out will make the truck run better.

Need color of wire plug not vacuum
I need to know what color of electrical plugs, plug into the the 2 blue circled parts. They both are blue plastic on the parts, but I don't have any blue plugs in the wiring harness. I think the green plugs from the wiring harnes go to the 2 blue parts..?
