81 stock gears?????
any one know if the gearing on a 81 4x4 is 4.10's or 4.30's

never heard of 4.30 gears in a yota before. probably 3.90

4.30s are the 4cyl/auto standard ratio



3.90 is the only STOCK ratio for 1981 4wd

79/80 - 4.38s
81 - 3.90s
82/83 - 4.10/4.11

Hope theres better parts than just the 3rds!

81s had 3.90 mine did and it was disapointing I would hope atleast 4.10...

So easy and cheap to find a set of used 4.10/ 4.30 3rds though
