CB/GPS newbie ?s

im looking to get a cb and small mounted gps unit.

what are you guys having success with, and what should i stay away from.

what is swr, and how do you tune the cb?

what kind of units for both cb and gps do you reccomend, and what kind of range can i expect with certain cbs, and a better antenna, firestik is what i see all of you using.

i need a bit of range to talk to truckers on the highway since i get bored with my 4.5 hour drive home from school.

I personally have a cobra 18 wxst II unit and so far so good. Its nice small and will fit into the center console. But if you want just anything try a midland, uniden, radio shack brand. Its always better to buy a better cable and antenna system then spend alot of money on the radio. SWR(Standing Wave Ratio) measures how much your system ends up transmitting so that you can tune your radio better. go to www.firestik.com for more info on how to set up. Its a great website that tells you everything about everything you need to know about CB's. Good luck
