Problems with GPS (Earth Mate lt-20)

Iv been trying to use my GPS cuz i just got a new laptop. Its worked before but for the past week it just hasent been aquiring a signal. I tryed it tonight coming back from school and it didnt pic up anything! I even sat in the parking lot for like 10 minutes.. it picked up all red sattlites. Like 3 all red... It was clear ..no cloudes or anything... anyone ever had this problem with there gps mouse. The soon I know the problem and if it is the mouse im gonna try to send it back to the person i bought it from on ebay. I went to the new best buy by my house they just built and they had it for the same price. I bought it from ebay from like a person that sells alot so it was brand new in the plastic.. just dont know whats up with it. Any ideas???

Make sure your comm port settings are right. And expect this thread to move...it's off-topic.

Get a program called Fransom gpsgate on your laptop. It lets you assign the comm port so you can run as many gps applications as you need.
I did the same...bought my gps mouse on ebay, could have found it local for a similar price...but it's great. I use it driving and flying.

If you want to trouble shoot it, go buy another at Best Buy and see if that GPS mouse works. If it does then you have a defective unit. If you are that kind of person, place defective unit in Best Buy packaging with unopened software and return to store for refund. I've found help to simple problems on Delorme's forum site. Lot of people BSing difficulties and sollution like they do here.
